Description
The Playsa Face Boy Wall Activity Panel is a heat-sensitive drawing surface in a cheerful boy and sun design. Children press their hands and fingers against the blue surface and watch temporary marks appear where their body heat touches the panel.
The marks fade back to the original blue background naturally, leaving a clean surface ready for the next child. No supplies, no cleanup, nothing to restock.

Temperature and Installation Requirements
Heat-sensitive panels perform best within a specific temperature range and require thoughtful placement. Read these before purchasing.
Made in the USA by Gressco Playscapes. Item 20-MGC-013. Two-year warranty. Mounting hardware and instructions included.
Optimal room temperature: 68 to 73 degrees F
The heat-sensitive surface performs best when the room temperature is between 68 and 73 degrees Fahrenheit. If the room is too cold the surface will respond sluggishly to touch. If the room is too warm the surface may show color even when not in use. Most climate-controlled waiting rooms and offices fall within this range naturally, but it is worth confirming before installation.
Mount on an inside wall away from direct sunlight
Install the panel on an inside wall where the temperature is consistent throughout the day. Direct sunlight will affect surface responsiveness and shorten the life of the heat-sensitive material. Avoid mounting near windows, exterior walls with significant temperature variation, or heating and cooling vents that create localized temperature swings.
Cleaning – no ammonia, no abrasives
Clean with a soft damp cloth, general-purpose cleaner, or disinfectant spray. Do not use cleaners containing ammonia or abrasive materials as these will damage the heat-sensitive surface. For crayon or stubborn marks, De-Solv-It or Goo Gone are recommended. Most standard hospital-grade disinfectant wipes are ammonia-free and safe for this surface – check the label to confirm before use.
Where These Work Best
Pediatric and medical waiting rooms
The heat-sensitive drawing surface fascinates children across a wide age range – the immediate visual feedback of marks appearing and fading is compelling and novel. Because the surface resets automatically, there is nothing for staff to reset, refill, or clean between patients. The panel requires no supervision, no supplies, and produces no mess, making it one of the most operationally low-maintenance activity panels available for a clinical waiting room.
Creative expression and sensory exploration
The large open surface area gives children a canvas for drawing, tracing, and pattern-making using only their hands and fingers – no tools, no materials, no mess. For preschool and early elementary-age children who are developing fine motor control, the heat-responsive surface provides immediate visual confirmation of their movements in a way that is distinctly different from the tactile feedback of bead mazes and mechanical panels. It engages a different type of creativity than any other panel in the catalog.
